The Palazzo Pretorio houses the spiral staircase in a double helicoid of the Leonardesque school and overlooks the Piazza d’Armi in Terra del Sole, the ideal city-fortress founded on 8 December 1564 by Cosimo I De Medici, as the new centre of Romagna Toscana. Within its walls it preserves a tru peolpe-oriented town, a rare example of military and judicial architecture displaying a hormonious relationship between space and volumes.

The Fortezza di Castrocaro Terme, with a breathtaking view, is one of the oldest Italian castles, that dominates the medieval town from above: unique, admirable architecture for an authentic fortified complex that has come down through the ages, as if suspended time. You will cross the time walking through the Historical and Archaeological Museum of the city, the Medicean Arsenals and the Enoteca of Romagna wines.
